11 million unwanted calls
After receiving a total of 316 complaints against the consulting firm Brazier Consulting Services Ltd, the UK’s data protection authority ICO was able to seize more than 11 million unlawfully made calls as part of its investigation. In some cases, the persons concerned continued to be called even after they had expressly objected. Furthermore, the ICO criticized that the company’s employees were not extensively trained in handling personal data. As a result, the ICO imposed a fine in the amount of GBP 200,000.
