21,347 unauthorized advertising calls to homeowners
The UK’s data protection authority, the ICO, has launched an investigation into the company Repair Plans UK Limited after it made 21,347 calls to people who had signed up on the TPS register that they did not want to receive telephone advertising.
During these investigations, the DPA found that these calls were specifically to people over the age of 60 who own a home and have a landline. Furthermore, misleading or even false statements were made during the calls.
