69,133 Advertising calls despite objection in the TPS register
After 5 complaints were received by the UK’s TPS Registry and the UK’s Data Protection Authority (ICO) about unsolicited marketing calls for insurance, the ICO launched an investigation into the company behind the calls, Domestic Support Limited.
The investigation revealed that between January 1 and July 31, 2020, the company had made 69,133 solicitation calls to individuals who had entered in the TPS registry that they did not want to receive solicitation calls.
In addition, the recipient of the fine had not correctly disclosed his identity during the calls. Callers reported themselves as “Homeforce” or “Homeforth,” among other names.
