Data stored from critics
MONSANTO, producer of the controversial weed killer glyphosate, has been accused of having stored personal data from over 200 critics. The data protection authority also received seven complaints from affected persons.
The file in question contained information about the organization and position of the victims, as well as their business address, work phone number, mobile phone number, work email address and, in some cases, their Twitter account. In addition, people have been categorized by a score from 1 to 5 to assess their influence.
As the victims did not know about the storage of this data, the data protection authority found a violation of the obligation to provide information.
