Penalty against Jusos Baden-Württemberg
The state head of the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Jungsozialistinnen und Jungsozialisten in der SPD” (Young Socialists in the SPD) sent a list of delegates to ten people so that they could assess the general mood regarding a housing subsidy proposal. Since this list was created only for the purpose of handling the state party conference, forwarding it to other persons (some of whom were part of the state executive committee, some of whom were not) was not permitted.
The list contained the following data:
First and last name
Age
Residence
associated local and district association
Due to the unlawful processing, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Dr. Stefan Brink) imposed a fine of € 2,500 on the former chairman of the Jusos Baden-Württemberg. The maximum fine was €50,000, as the incident occurred on 27.04.2018 and therefore took place before the GDPR came into force.
